jack’s next appearance Ft. Lauderdale Florida.  picture is similar to the black and whites from Chicago, Illinois: 9 mins. from the next crime listed below.

In October 8, 1946, after Swinney (a suspect in the Texarkana Murders) was in jail awaiting trial for stealing cars, a murder took place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, that greatly mirrored the modus operandi of the Texarkana Phantom. A young couple, Elaine Eldridge (from Massachusetts) and her boyfriend Lawrence O. Hogan (from Miami Beach) were slain while parked in a secluded spot near the ocean. Again, a .32 caliber had been the weapon of destruction, although it was believed to have been of a foreign make and not the familiar Colt that the Phantom probably used. There were no fingerprints recovered and the killer escaped into oblivion — again. See the picture Jack took in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida below.

This is believed to be Jack trying to tell the authorities that their suspect for the Texarkana murders is the wrong person.

Dennis claims that Jack mentions getting in trouble at one point and was arrested.  His .32 caliber colt was confiscated by law enforcement.  Jack knowing that it could link him to Texarkana went to the Judge’s home. (Something you could only do back in the day)  Jack asked for the return of the gun, and the Judge accompanied Jack to the police station and helped him reclaim his murder weapon.

I found today 2/25/2014:

That Jack's Ft. Lauderdale picture is much closer to home than originally thought Jupiter...

1946-10-8 Ft Lauderdale to Dania Beach Murders.PNG

Point being is that the murders of the Florida couple on lover's lane was less than 9 miles from Jack's picture in Dania Beach and not Miami Beach.
This doesn't take into consideration that Dania Beach may not have been named a city yet in 1946 which would make this entire area Ft. Lauderdale.

Dania Beach is between Miami Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. Miami is home of CIA/Organization at this point, and there is a good possibility that this was where Elizabeth Short and Jack headed to after Chicago.
