I have completed the timeline through April 2002, and I have begun timelining my recollection of Dennis' happenings with the Zodiac case as well the final years of Jack. It shouldn't be much longer and I will turn my attention to the link analysis and cross connection of every crime and every letter received to date. I can't believe I am almost there.

I have started to see the alibis for Jack today. I read an article that would otherwise exclude Jack Tarrance as the Zodiac because it commends Denny Tarrance for Vietnam action while placing Mr. Jack and Mrs. Tarrance in Llano Texas in 1968. This falls apart on so many levels it is ridiculous.

There are records that support Jack and Letha were divorced by 1968, so Denny's parents couldn't be who they are talking about though they make it sound like it is Jack and Letha.

Then Doris and Jack didn't marry until 1966 proven now by records in my possession, and in California with a divorce on file in 1971 in California, so why this bs article that would otherwise cause the public to believe that he was in Texas and not in California. The other thing is that the article even went into what subdivision they moved into, and what jobs they had. Who the hell prints an article about a war hero that discusses where the parents moved from and to and where they work???? Complete disinformation when you consider the legal documents that refute these very ill-reported media messages.... Somebody screwed up. I will put the article up shortly.

I received a response in regards to Jack's military records through a private investigator. Today, 6 months to the day since it had been ordered, we received a response. I skimmed through the info, and it still doesn't exclude Jack. Turns out that Jack enlisted into the reserves in June of 1945, so he would not have been in active duty thus free to do as he pleases. I will finish going through the information, and then figure out a way to post the information for everyone to see. I have far more specific dates, and time frames to work with now. We shall see where this gets us.

Bottom line, this means that Jack's military record exists, and the FBI was not honest with Dennis Kaufman and I when we were told that it did not exist.

Nanette, yeah....who the hell publishes an article like that? I don't usually use the word "theory" but I will state that it's been my suspicion for a long time that there have been active efforts to suppress the JT connection. It's what isn't being said coupled with the nonsense articles like that, that list the jobs Tarrance had. Of course JT was gonna wanna try to establish alibi's along the way, as sophisticated as we know he was, that only stands to reason.

Look at the Ferguson thing, who say's inflammatory jerks like Al Sharpton are worth listening too? Why do they have to make a bad situation worse by letting a guy like that stir people up? This is another reason why I'm highly critical of the American media machine.

Look at the Cosby rape reports. If Cosby was the way for several years, why is it now suddenly being over-reported? I should point out that the television networks aren't as guilty of this as are a whole bunch of internet based 'so-called' news sites are.

However; the major networks are pumping the hell of the Ferguson thing and I think it's to the detriment of all people. Yet, they're supposed to under-publicize daily combat deaths in the media? They're not allowed to transmit the verbal audio of the names of the soldiers that die. Doesn't that discriminate against people that have a disability like blindness?

Back on topic:

Every so often I'll review something about the cases just to see if I might have missed something. Just today I reviewed A&E's presentation 'The Zodiac Killer' and came to the part where John Shimoda of the US Postal Service was pointing out that the Zodiac killer made his letter k in an unusual manner. The document shown was the one where the Zodiac killer is threatening to shoot little 'kiddies' as they come bouncing off the bus. Well....that particular example is what I refer to as a compound or combination JT clue. So, I went back to the Ramsey ransom note and found that only the last example of the word 'killing' has a modified k, albeit not exactly like the Zodiac one was made. I think that the one pointed out by Shimoda is a very astute observation by him, that letter k is exactly what I would expect to find. There's no doubt in my mind that it's a JT initial clue.

The "k" isn't really modified as it is copybook print which is what the Zodiac attempted to achieve in many of his communications. If you look at any "k" on this board you will see that the placement of the right arm and left leg of the "k" is exactly how it should be per our learned lessons; however, because many people deviate from learned lessons we do not often see the construction of the letter "k" such as it was meant to be. Again, it is a ruse because Jack's lower case "k's" would normally present themselves as capital "K's" in his normal writing, so to deviate and deceive he purposefully and intentionally used the proper form in order to diminish identification. But, we see him constantly going back to the capital "K" in many of the communications.

I have asserted that since the Lipstick killings there are certain letters in common with all the communications that this author did not want us to hone in on. "A" "N" "M" "L" "K" and maybe another like "T" in the lower case and upper case forms, but these are the ones I can recall, and for those who know these communications you will know that these are the most fanciful, distorted letters with an unnatural range in variation that is indicative of someone who doesn't usually use that construction.

Nanette. I get what you're saying. Like the a's on the Ramsey ransom note being made in several variations.

The r's are letters that I personally haven't paid as much attention to as other letters. On the example Shimoda offers, it has a very recognizable font type of 't' to the right lower leg and a backwards stemmed J to the left leg.

BTW, it dawned on me that the second example of cursive writing on the Ramsey ransom note, which is in the word 'Enforcement', may be a hint at 'basement' where the body was found?

Back to the letter variations: You could also say the same thing about the fact that sometimes he spelled certain words correctly, yet other times he insisted on misspelling the same word. Like he did with the word 'beyound' (sic) on one or more Karr camp emails and even after Tracey corrects him by example. Just like can not vs cannot vs can't. I think he stirs things up with the use of 'don't' vs do not on the Ramsey ransom note too, however that was a paraphrase of a movie line, as you probably already know.

I think it's Shimota's point that it was unconventional the way the k was made on that particular Zodiac killer document. I haven't had time yet to review all of the other examples of the letter k on Zodiac documents. We'll have to tally up the number of types of r's on the Zodiac killer documents.

That documentary is great to review because it offers an in depth look at the Zodiac attacks. Hartnell was very articulate in his review and so was Mageau. They even aired the dispute about whether Officer Fouke actually talked to the Zodiac killer in the Stine murder case or not. Fouke says that if Eric Zelms were still alive, that he could back him up on this. Fouke gave an incredibly detailed description of the suspect, that's for sure. He said the suspect was climbing a set of stairs to a certain house in Pacific Heights when he last saw him. The address was bleeped out of the audio track. I wonder if the house belonged to someone that was kind of important?

Hi Nanette, currently I'm trying to get a copy of the taunting letters sent to the family of the Grimes sisters, this is an unsolved 1956/57 murder case. Evidence showed that the sisters died of exposure and that their nude bodies were kept frozen and deposited on German Church road in the northern Chicago area on approximately Jan 26th or 27th of 1957. They never came home after they went to see an Elvis movie on the evening of Dec 28th 1956, their bodies were discovered on 1/28/57. The cops figured that the bodies were left there shortly before they were discovered. There were other similar unsolved murders in that area and LE thought they were done by the same person.

I am very aware of the Grimes sisters. I have them in the timeline as an unsolved murder with the Zodiac MO; and, I think it was the phone calls and/or letters that got my attention. I have much research to complete on each of the crimes, but there are approx. 160 in the timeline from 1945 - 2004 with the communications going through September 2005 which by the way is the 60th anniversary of the first anniversary letter in September 1945. Not including the 2006 - 2010 communications of JMK and purported greeting cards to Robert Gray Smith; however, they are in my timeline, I just haven't completed an examination this far yet.

I might add that another Zodiac Jack clue came in a series of 4 different murders in 4 different states that spanned the entire US in 1 1/2 weeks. When you follow the chronological order and location through the series, it actually maps out a Z along the highways that connects them without deviation from the design. Mapping from California to Minnesota to Texas to DC. I believe this was a 70's series, but will have to check my facts on that.

Nanette, I find is suspicious that the documents in many of these cases seems to be downplayed or suppressed. If the mother received taunting letter, where are they?

BTW, it was the stomach contents that caused the coroners to conclude that the girls died within 5 hours from the time they went missing. This means that the killer(s) kept track of their frozen corpses for almost up to a month. Snowfall may have hidden their remains for part of that time. It's reported that the older girl had had intercourse prior to her death. I wonder if modern forensics could determine additional information if they exhumed the girls remains? I would certainly think so.

These same murders happened not too long after the murders of three young boys near that area, that LE thought were done by the same killer. They said whomever it was that did these murders was someone that was very intelligent. I'd say he was very sinister too.

I haven't read everything I can about those cases but I will sometime in the near future.

I need to work it from that angle myself. I think I am going to research the cases in chronological order with the communication exams because much presents itself from one crime to the next as well as one communication to the next. Plus, it will break up the monotony of handwriting exams.

I need to see when those occurred again, and see how it played into my timeline. Sometimes the when can show the why. Some murders I believe were to merely cover other important ones as if to make them look random and not planned. Even though we know that is far from the truth.

Of course, the point is that if we had those letters and they were taunting, perhaps we could see if they matched the other documents in question. As you know; taunting of victims families isn't unique to the Zodiac killer but the handwriting could support our suspicions.

I'd like to know exactly how much this really happens. The taunting of victims families...that is! I don't know the statistics, but here are some crazy factors...The killer would have to know the victim or have stalked them to even know this information. They would have to had followed the media frenzy. The goal of serial killers is to not get caught, so you have to have some big cajonies if you know the family to hang out and taunt, and some godlike mentality which has you convinced you wouldn't get caught(or cover of the finest).

Here's the thing, I don't think it happens as much as they would like you to believe, and this tightens the circle of possibility.

It seems to me that I read that in the Son of Sam/Berkowics case he taunted the families or maybe it was the cops or newspaper? When asked why he put a drawing of boobs on his notes, he said they were his initials!

I agree and it was a very nervy killing too. The 1955 case  referred to as the Schuessler-Peterson murder case had three young boys as victims, found nude, bound, gash marks on one boy that they think fought back against his attacker. There are several conflicting reports on this matter, I'd have to dig and dig to sort it all out. It was also in the No Chicago area that it happened.
